Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller

FaceRead is an independently operated product. For privacy inquiries, contact us at hi@faceread.app. Payment and billing services are provided by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as Merchant of Record for all transactions.

2. Photos You Upload

Photos submitted for analysis are transmitted securely to our AI processing service and are permanently deleted immediately after the analysis completes (within seconds). We do not store, copy, sell, share, or use your photos for any other purpose — including AI model training, advertising, or profiling.

You must ensure you have the right to upload any photo you submit. By uploading, you confirm the subject has consented to AI analysis, or that you are the subject.

3. Analysis Results

Text-based personality analysis results are temporarily stored and associated with an anonymous token saved in your browser's localStorage. Results are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers after 7 days. We do not link results to any personal identity.

4. No Account Required

FaceRead does not require registration. We do not collect your name, email address, date of birth, or any account credentials. This minimises your data exposure by design.

5. Biometric & Sensitive Data Notice

FaceRead uses AI to interpret visual self-expression signals — including style, posture, and visible facial aesthetics — to generate personality insights for entertainment purposes. This process is not biometric identification: we do not create biometric identifiers, do not match faces against databases, and do not identify individuals. The AI has no memory of past sessions and cannot recognise returning users.

If you reside in Illinois (USA) or another jurisdiction with biometric data laws, please note that our service does not collect or store biometric identifiers as defined by those laws.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage (e.g., page views, conversion rates). No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data. Essential session cookies may be used to maintain your analysis token within a session.

7. Payments

All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (a company registered in England & Wales), who acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and stores your payment card details. FaceRead never sees or stores your card number, CVV, or full billing address. Paddle's privacy policy is available at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

8. Third-Party Services

We use third-party AI APIs to generate analysis results. Photos are transmitted to these services only for the purpose of generating your analysis and are not retained by those services after the request completes, consistent with their standard API data handling policies.

9. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are located in the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Since we do not collect identifying information, we are generally unable to link an individual to stored data. If you have a specific request, contact us at hi@faceread.app.

10. Children's Privacy

FaceRead is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used our service, contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of FaceRead after changes constitutes acceptance.
