1. Service Description

FaceRead is an AI-powered personality analysis tool. Upon uploading a photo and completing a one-time payment, you receive a text-based personality reading generated by an AI large language model (LLM). The reading interprets visible visual signals — facial aesthetics, style choices, and posture — for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only.

FaceRead is not a psychological, medical, diagnostic, or professional assessment service. Results should not be used as the basis for any clinical, legal, financial, or life-impacting decision.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use FaceRead and make purchases. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. User Responsibilities

• You must only upload photos for which you have rights and the subject's consent.
• Do not upload photos of minors or persons without their knowledge.
• Do not use FaceRead for harassment, defamation, surveillance, or any unlawful purpose.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service infrastructure.

Violation of these responsibilities may result in termination of access without refund.

4. Entertainment Purposes Only

All analyses are AI-generated interpretations of visual signals. They represent patterns observed by the AI and are for entertainment only. FaceRead makes no warranty as to the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any analysis. The AI does not identify individuals and has no memory between sessions.

5. Payments & Merchant of Record

All purchases are one-time payments of $4.99 USD per analysis. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. When you make a purchase, you are transacting with Paddle. Paddle's terms of use and privacy policy apply to your payment transaction. FaceRead does not collect or store your payment card details.

All applicable taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) are calculated and collected by Paddle in accordance with applicable law.

6. Refund Policy

Due to the immediate and digital nature of AI-generated results, all purchases are generally non-refundable once an analysis has been generated and delivered.

Exceptions apply in the following cases:

• Technical failure: If a technical error on our part prevented you from receiving your analysis result, we will issue a full refund or re-run the analysis at no charge.
• Duplicate charge: If you were charged more than once for the same analysis due to a payment error, the duplicate will be refunded.

To request a refund under these conditions, email hi@faceread.app within 7 days of purchase. Include your order ID (available from your Paddle receipt).

You may also be eligible for a refund under Paddle's Buyer Protection Policy, available at paddle.com/legal/buyer-protection.

7. Intellectual Property

Analysis reports generated by FaceRead are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share your own results. You may not resell, license, or commercially exploit AI-generated reports. The FaceRead name, logo, and website design are our exclusive property.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

FaceRead is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, expressed or implied. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that results will meet your expectations. AI outputs are inherently probabilistic and may contain inaccuracies.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FaceRead and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of FaceRead shall first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith negotiation via email to hi@faceread.app.

If you subscribed via Paddle, Paddle's standard dispute resolution process may also apply for billing matters.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect any changes. Continued use of FaceRead following updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
